Christmas is coming, and registration for my 2026 Christmas Family Mini Sessions in Midland, Texas officially opens this Friday, September 18th at 9:00 AM!

Christmas minis are always one of my favorite ways to kick off the holiday season. This year I’ll be offering one large indoor Christmas set designed for families, children, and all those Christmas card photos we know we’ll need before December sneaks up on us.

Sessions are $225 + tax and include 10–15 high-resolution digital images available through a digital download.

The Christmas set will have a warm, elegant holiday feel with plenty of room for the entire family. Whether you need updated family portraits, pictures of the kids, or something special for your Christmas cards and gifts, these sessions are a quick and easy way to get them done before the holiday rush.

What’s Included?

Your Christmas Family Mini Session includes one large indoor family Christmas set and 10–15 professionally edited, high-resolution digital images delivered through an online gallery for digital download.

The session fee is $225 + tax.

Because these are limited seasonal sessions, appointments are available only on the designated Christmas mini dates and times.

Online registration opens at 9:00 AM on Friday, September 18th and will take place during the weekends before Thanksgiving.

Sessions can be booked directly through kimcowanphoto.com once registration opens.

Christmas minis tend to be popular, so I recommend registering early if you have a particular session time you want.

Christmas Mini Session Cancellation Policy

Because Christmas Mini Sessions are offered on limited dates with a limited number of appointments, sessions cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled session date are non-refundable.

Please double-check your schedule before booking and contact the studio as soon as possible if something comes up.

And just to clarify—you do not have to be photographed in September to receive the special.

Simply reserve your maternity session and pay your deposit during September, and the $100 discount will be applied to your session. We can schedule the actual photography session for a later date based on your due date and the best timing for maternity portraits.

After photographing maternity sessions for many years, one thing I’ve learned is that not every mom wants the same thing.

Some want something simple and timeless. Some want dramatic gowns and beautiful studio lighting. Others want their partner and children included or prefer a more relaxed outdoor setting.

Studio sessions are perfect if you love clean, polished maternity portraits with beautiful lighting and fewer distractions.

We can create everything from simple portraits that keep the focus entirely on you and your growing belly to more dramatic images with maternity gowns, fabrics and styling.

My maternity clients also have access to my studio maternity wardrobe, so you don’t necessarily need to purchase something you’ll only wear once for photographs.

On-Location Maternity Photography

If the studio isn’t quite your style, we can also take your maternity session outside.

On-location sessions give us beautiful natural surroundings and are especially nice when partners or older children are participating.

We’ll talk about the overall look you want and choose a location and time of day that works well for your session.

Something Different: Underwater Maternity Portraits

This is my newest maternity option, and I’m already having way too much fun with it.

Underwater maternity photography creates something completely different from what we can accomplish in the studio. Flowing dresses become almost weightless, hair moves naturally through the water, and the light creates beautiful patterns across the skin and fabric.

It’s definitely more challenging to photograph than it looks, but the results can have an almost dreamlike, fine-art quality.

If you’re comfortable in the water and want maternity portraits that are a little outside the ordinary, we can talk about whether an underwater session would be a good fit for you.

When Should You Book Your Maternity Session?

You don’t need to wait until you’re ready to be photographed before contacting me.

In fact, I recommend booking maternity photography ahead of time so we have plenty of time to plan your wardrobe, location and overall look.

That’s also why this September maternity special can be used for a future session. If you’re not ready for pictures yet, that’s completely fine.

Your deposit simply needs to be paid during September to receive the $100 discount. Your actual maternity session can take place at a later date.

One of the most common questions I hear from expecting parents is, “When should I book my newborn photographer?”

My answer is simple: before your baby arrives!

You do not need to know exactly when your little one will make an appearance. Babies have their own schedules, after all!

Instead, we reserve your newborn session based on your expected due date. Once your baby arrives, we can finalize the session date.

Booking during pregnancy gives you one less thing to worry about after your baby is born. It also helps ensure that I have room on my calendar around your due date.

Because I only accept a limited number of sessions, my calendar can fill several weeks or months in advance.
