Love Remembered Through Portraits
October 19th, 2025 – Midland, Texas
This weekend, I had the honor of photographing an extraordinary group of people as part of my new project celebrating love, memory, and healing. Each participant held a framed photo of someone deeply missed — and in that simple act, something sacred unfolded. These portraits are not only about what we’ve lost, but also about what still remains: the enduring presence of love.
“A photograph can become a bridge between what we can no longer touch and what we can still feel.”
The Healing Power of Photography
Photography has an incredible ability to hold space for both joy and sorrow. Through the lens, we can explore the delicate balance between grief and grace — moments where pain softens into peace. When we see ourselves holding the image of someone we love, we are reminded that our stories continue, that connection never truly ends.
A photograph can be a bridge — between past and present, between what we can no longer touch and what we can still feel. It allows us to see love in form again, to witness how remembrance can comfort and restore.
The Inspiration Behind the Project
While preparing for this session, I heard “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe, and its message stopped me in my tracks. The lyrics — filled with wonder, hope, and the longing for reunion — became the heartbeat of this project. It reminded me how powerful it is to imagine seeing our loved ones again, and how art can give that hope a shape we can hold.
That moment of inspiration reminded me that this project isn’t just about photographs; it’s about faith, healing, and the sacred beauty of remembering.
Honoring Love That Never Fades
The following portraits capture quiet courage, tenderness, and truth. Every image reflects the strength it takes to love someone so deeply that their memory becomes part of who we are.
To everyone who took part of this project: thank you. Your openness and vulnerability have given this project a soul. Together, we’ve created something that speaks beyond words — a testament that love endures, even when we can only imagine what comes next.
Future opportunities to join this project will be announced here on my blog and on social media. I can’t wait to continue this journey of healing, storytelling, and connection.
